Not Today, My Man

Settling Back
First full day home... sigh.
Went shopping with mom in the afternoon, bought some sunglasses, headbands and a dress :)
Made up for all the money I didn't spend on the trip.
Came home and didn't do much... caught up with people.
Watched Nurse Jackie and X Files after supper.
Good stuff.

The End
Drove for many hours.
Home at 5:00.
I win :)
Picked up Noodle!!
Reconnected myself with [most of] my world, which made me very, very happy.
I love coming home.

10 It's Big!
Got to Charlottetown before lunch... wow. Way to be underwhelming for a capital.
Lachine mall is gigantic compared to Charlottetown mall.
Left PEI early and started on our way home.
Made it across the bridge again!
Drove for a long time, thennn - hotel!
Padded around, and watched Burn After Reading [gasp!]
I love Brad Pitt.
Went to bed later than 9:30 for the first time in... what feels like forever.

9 Friend of the Devil
Drove for a bit and set up camp an hour or two down the road.
Hot! and sunny!
Lay in the sun for an hour or so... yummm.
Mom and Dad dragged me to the beach and I finally swam in the ocean. Avoided all jellyfish quite successfully.
Out again after dinner, shopping and ice cream. Stopped in a cemetary, at a run down house and a church.
Nice day :)

8 Float Like A Jellyfish

Stopped at the beach in PEI after crossing that huge bridge.
Lifeguards Owen and Betty were there to keep an eye on us.
Unfortunately, so were thousands of flies.
We ditched out on that place pretty quickly.
Found ourselves a nice campsite by the ocean, kinda.
Went out for a drive after dinner... saw a lot of potatoes.

7 Inifite
A giant black cloud seemed to hover right over our tent in the morning, so we rushed off.
Driving around Cape Breton is very beautiful. Also, very long.
I can't remember much. That kind of day.
Hmmmm.

...like I miss home.

Camped on some mountain or something.
Went to the beach, but did not swim.
Went out for ice cream after supper, and then checked out a [not-so-creepy] house and an old quarry.

If you got naked, smeared yourself with peanut butter and vaseline, and rolled around in bed with Johnny Watson, it's all water under the bridge now.

6 Bluenose
Woke up to rain, so folded up the tent in a hurry and jetted on out of there.
Arrived in Halifax!!
Cloudy, but not rainy.
Saw Theodore Tugboat, Captain Jack, lots of naughty posters, Dalhousie University, Ye Olde Burying Ground... a Jesus action figure... I love Halifax.

Slept in a hotel in Antigonish, andddddd - saw Harry Potter!!
What a cute theatre, and delicious popcorn.
Listened to some local teenagers talk about their fun times... aww.
Best day yet :)

5 Mini
Packed up and left camp after showering in an uncomfortably small stall.
[with an insect that looked suspiciously like a leaf...]
NotDad: That deer was smoking something! Dad: A reefer? NotDad: I think so! Dad: Smoky the Bear probably sold it to him.

Had to meet John and Arno so we sped along for a while, stopping only for some Timmy's and some tiny horses!
Awwwwwww.
Left that place covered in hives.
Dinner with the uncles was so much fun! They're so cute :)
Tried to go see Harry Potter, but it was sold out.
Pfft, like there are even enough people in that town to fill a theatre.
Sleep instead.

4 CANADA!
This one step closer to home felt so good.
Drove in to New Brunswick pretty early in the day, I think.
Found our [stupidly expensive] park and set up camp. Mom and Dad went for a walk and I lay in the tent and read poetry.
Then did nothing for a long time... Dad chatted with our neighbours and I slept.

3 Whoooooo?
Drove around a lot.
Homesick.
Missing people.
Mom talked about the tide all day long.
Beautiful campsite right on a bay, heard coyotes howling all night long.
The only other camper in the whole park stole our water bucket, though.
Time change?

2 Teeter
Drove through pretty awesome mountains [in my opinion, anyway] today. Stopped at a few lookouts.
Got to Maine.
Drove for 45 minutes on some crazy dirt road, with some hillbilly telling us to turn back around right now!
Camped in a really popular camp site, complete with a duck family!
Went out after dinner for a walk with Dad by the beaver pond, where I thought we were going to get attacked by wolves but only got splashed by a beaver instead.
Saw a mink and a whole crapload of bugs.
Drove out to Portland, stopped for McDo's on the way, and walked around the city.
Meh.
Got back to the campground and... it was... closed?
Oh. No. We were at the wrong gate.
Finally got home and slept.

1 Lean On Me
Showered early, said goodbye to Nick and Noodle and hopped into [my new home] the car.
Drove, hour by hour.

Me: Look! A petting zoo! With... a goat! And... a... chicken! Minister sinister.

Stopped and saw the longest suspension footbridge in the world... did NOT go across it.
Got to our campsite in... the states pretty early. Took a walk through the flume!
Survived that, barely.

Top 'O Gorge

Went back to our bear-ridden campsite, had a fire and slept.
